 We are a family-owned business located in the West Midlands, specialising in the rental of fully equipped temporary domestic kitchens, thoughtfully designed within a secure trailer. Our mobile trailer kitchens offer a practical and dependable solution during emergencies, home renovations, insurance claims, or special events. Crafted for everyday cooking and comfort, our units enable customers to maintain their usual routines when their primary kitchen is out of service. 

OUr Trailers

The Standard Trailer

  • Internally, the standard trailer measures approximately 3m x 2.m.   This provides sufficient space for all the appliances, while allowing space to move around
  • Externally, the trailer is larger to accommodate the wheels and axle.  It measures approximately 2.5m wide and 5m in length 
  • To set up and use the trailer, there needs to be approximately 7m x 4m area with clear access
  • There needs to be a height clearance of 3.5m minimum

Safety Details

  • The inside of the trailer is fully insulated making it practical for year round use
  • All electrical cabling is certified by a qualified electrician
  • Water pipes are fully compliant with EU10/2011, REACh, and RoHS
  • A full deep clean completed prior to delivery
  • The trailer will be secured on site with a lockable wheel clamp, and a hitch lock.  Alongside this the trailer door has a double lock
  • Outside motion sensor light to ensure both safety when accessing the kitchen and security.

Essential Requirements

To connect appropriately to the property utilities and services:


  • The land should be privately owned (not a public space.  Nor a shared drive unless explicit consent is provided in advance
  • A firm surface that is as flat as possible - grass is not practical
  • Direct  access to two separate 13 amp plug sockets (not via an extension lead) within 25 meters of the trailer location
  • Access to a drain that is within 25 meters of the trailer
  • Access to a water source (outside tap ideal)

Pricing Structure

We pride ourselves in offering value for money and aim to keep costs as low as possible.  


The standard kitchen trailer is £349.00 per week.   


A refundable security deposit is also required.


Our delivery costs are based on mileage.  If the delivery address is within 10 miles of WV1 1LE it is free.  beyond that, please reach out through the 'contact us' for a quote

Our pricing structure for delivery and set up costs from WV1 1LE is as follows:


  • Between 0 - 10 miles  delivery is FREE
  • Delivery addresses beyond 10 miles - please contact us for a personal quote


We do our best to keep costs as low as possible and do not charge for the set up.

We are a Midlands based family run company that developed a temporary kitchen in a trailer when we had a kitchen renovation. Unable to use our own facilities, we set up our own temporary unit.  It proved so useful and practical that we wanted to offer this as a service to everyone.

We go live on 1 April 2026, and we cannot wait to offer you the benefits of temporary kitchen facilities when your own kitchen is unavailable.  

Yes, we take bookings on a weekly basis, dropping off your temporary kitchen on a Sunday, and collect it on a Saturday.

If the trailer is not booked out to another customer, we are happy to extend your booking.  Payment will need to be made 24 hours before the prearranged Saturday pick up slot.  

Cooking facilities use an electric oven and electric induction hob

The security deposit of £350.00 is required upon booking regardless of how long you hire the kitchen trailer for.  This covers damage that unfortunately may occur.  We will undertake an full inspection with you at drop off and pick up.  If there is no damage, we will complete the process to refund your deposit within 48hrs

We deliver and set up the temporary kitchen on Sunday's only, and pick up on a Saturday

We appreciate that most people do not have perfectly flat drives.  To ensure you are not cooking at an angle, we can make adjustments of several inches to ensure the trailer sits as level as possible.  However, we will work with you to determine if your drive is flat enough for us to set up safely.  Please contact us via the 'contact us form' providing us with as much information as possible

The kitchen trailer has multiple electrical appliances, some of which draw more power than others.  We do not use extension leads for safety purposes.  To ensure an even draw on the electric across the appliances, they are split across two fuse boards - hence we need access to two separate power sockets

We need a driveway with a minimum access width of 4 metres.  The height will need clearance of over 3 meters with no overhanging trees/bushes.  

No.  Once the trailer has been set up, it cannot be moved.  Based on the information that you provide us, we will agree the best location on your drive with you in advance of booking. If upon arrival, we need to find a different location, we will work with you to agree to the most suitable space.  Security features will be put in place, therefore customers will be unable to move the trailer from this space for safety reasons.  

Yes & No.  The trailer comes with fitted appliances such as cooker/hob, sink, fridge/freezer, combined washer/dryer, cupboard space and drawers.  As we provide an induction hob, we will supply saucepans/frying pan (but if yours work, you can use your own).  A kettle is supplied upon request if you do not have one of your own.


It does not come supplied with plates, cups, cutlery, condiments, glasses etc.  these are for the customer to provide.

No, the preferred method of payment is bank transfer and the details to complete this will be provided when making the booking. 


Paying by debit/credit card is possible, although this may incur an additional charge and possibly have an increased delay in refunding the security deposit by the card company, which is outside of MKBHire's control.
